Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I say get your order in now! If it's something you don't want to take the risk on with eggs then buy day olds.

OH No JULIE!!!! That sucks SO BAD!

HEY PEEPS: ChickenCrazy12 is who I got my Ancona boy from! Woo Hoo!!

I just put my sebbies in and I want to candle. Is that wrong? LOL.

One more thing: Someone give me a GOOD reason why I shouldn't pre order a mating pair right now. I need a good legitimate reason. Because hearing of Julie bad luck makes me worry about my bad luck. :)

EVELLE: You need to MOVE girl. Somewheres warmer!

QJ
lol i did live somewhere warmer...
MOJAVI VALLY ARAZONA!!!!
lol i dont know why i when to one extreme to the other but i hated not having a winter.
i was to far from my family. i missed them way to much.
it lasted 2 years of summers of 120 130 degree summers.
that was not fun.. we lived in a trailer and we had 2 aircondtioners going and it was STILL 90 degrees inside :( to hot PLUS i had a two year old and a new born. and my husband was always working..
i was really lonely.
i like it here. i can handle the cold better then the heat i can alway bundle up there just so many layers you can take off. :p

QJ- I say order them if you want them. If nothing else, maybe you'll hatch out a girl and end up with a trio. Congrats on the saxony.
I just candled my call eggs. I have one that's developing and the air cell looks ok, but the rest of it just looks weird. I don't know what to think about it. 4 more have detatched/ruptured air cells but look good, 4 have good air cells and look good, 1 has a good air cell and is starting to rock.

Since ducklings take forever, maybe I'll have a duckling in 3 days. That'd be 25 days, and everything I've read say calls take 25-28 days so it could happen.

oh yay!!
ive never seen baby calls are they smaller then regular ducklings??

Hey Evelle: Nevermind stay where you're at.

Sebbies are still sitting in my cart.

Julie you have a great point. I thought geese mated in pairs. Like.. as in they are faithful to their significant others. I know that is SO DUMB!

Also: I have the eggs in the bator with the big end propped up. And I'm not turning them for .. what, like 3 days?

I know NOTHING about geese. Grandpa had them and they tried to bite my butt. So I like the ducks better.
