My sister had a hawk take down a full grown rooster yesterday. He was a big boy and it just kept attacking him with it's claws untill it got the best of him. He tried to run even with bloody gashes, but that thing was on him and got him. They took care of the hawk problemwon't say more just in case they did something illegal by getting rid of it.![]()
My ameraucana laid her first egg yesterday tooit was a beautiful greenish blue egg and she did it again this morning.![]()
Ok, well... thinking about getting some cheap eggs to put under this RIR. She'd probably be flaky. They're not the best moms. I'd like to see what happens though.
It's cool to see how much instinct duck babies can have. Eddie saw the hawks before me. I could tell because he hid under the lip of the pool.
My big duck Rosalee tried to hurt Little Eddie. She's a mean ole' thing.
And, Bunsen's head is more green today and overnight he's developing the white collar. I got a pic, to see if it shows up.
Update on the Ancona duck eggs I have hatching - There was a total of 19 eggs that made it to lockdown.
2- hatched (adorable little ducklings)
8- currently pipped
9- still waiting on.....
