Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Very busy!! I have 18 eggs going into lockdown (which is a LOT to me).

It's a pond plant, but I grow it in my fishtank. Helps keep the Oxygen levels up and the snails like to eat it, but it can overtake a tank quickly so I have to always skim off the top layer of it. I would throw it away usually, but decided to see how the ducklings would take to it since they have been loving their lettuce as a treat everyday. They LOVE LOVE Love the duckweed. I can put it in their treat dish or float it in their water as a fun treat.

LOL, I won't dare put it out on the pond. But in the fishtanks it's easily scooped off.

I can only imagin trying to get it off of a big pond.

Oh lordy. Don't talk to me about Duckweed. LOL!! Me and my grandpa spent one year trying to get that crap off his pond. Comical now, but I developed a love hate relationship for duckweed.

Chicken, I will look into it, as I have 3 tanks. We did, however, offer them cichlid food, which they thought was awesome... and I threw a single baby feeder fish in water bowl yesterday... it lasted all of 2 seconds.

Awesome! I can't wait to see some baby Appleyards.

Ya'll aren't going to believe this. I just candled my 4 Appleyards. 2 have almost internally pipped. They are due Friday.

The 2 that haven't Internally Pipped I was thinking to myself.. "Man, those air cells look fabulous, but a little lower than they should be... interesting." Which means.. they will begin soon too.

I just plugged in my LG to use as a hatcher. So.. I want to give it all day to hold a temp before I transfer them.

No change in Twist today. She still throws her head back too far when she drinks, but it looks like she is trying to fix it and will make adjustments between 1st gulp and the next. Often she will just lay down next to water to drink as that is easier for her. Hubby and I went to put a leg band on her last night... but we realized that we now have no problems picking her out... as she is so LOUD and DEMANDING when she sees you... it has become obvious who she is by personality. She is also the most playful of the group... and loved getting a new toy last night. Her appetite is great, her poop looks perfect.... I wish I knew what went wrong with her neck.

My eggs are all great on day 20!! By this time next week, I will be hatching new babies!

i'm 1 day behind you =)
mine are on day 19.
but they are muscovy so i dont lockdown till the 25th.

Hubby has always loved feeding fish to his cichlids. It is great entertainment for him. He is excited that the ducks love it too... and now he is dreaming up all sorts of ways to have a steady supply of feeder fish at the house.
