Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Utah: I don't weigh eggs. But I'm noticing my goose eggs are significantly heavier than they were before. Did you notice that?

Or Julie, Celtic and SM. Utah was just on here at the time. Anyone can weigh in on this.

Heavier? You should be losing weight. I'm pretty sure ideal is 13% weight loss. On day 11 (which I think is your celtic eggs?), I could see a formed embryo swimming in egg. It had a lot of movement too.

As of last night, my eggs are maintaining steady rate of aircells getting bigger, the mass at the pointy end is very dark and starting to take over the egg, with the veins more near surface of egg shell going up towards air cell. They look a lot like the duck eggs at this point.

Woo Hoo!! Hey CG did you see my ducks are coming early? Which could actually mean right on time. :)
yes i did c that .
im very excited to see pics
=)
ive been keepin up on reading today. just everytime i go to type a reply. the cat gets into something.

i made up my mind bout when to put eggs in the bator. im going to wait until these 2 hatch .
and that would put my hatch date the week before easter.
so i can have week old duckling to sell for easter (rather than fragile newly hatched babies)

this also means i will have 3 week old babies from the broody (assuming they hatch)
to either sell or hoard for myself.

i am hoping to talk myself into keeping very few little ones.
i am going to raise some for pairs to sell in the falls. but who knows how many will end up in my pen (i know i am keeping a female magpie. hopefully a black 1 )
and i wanna still get a white hen, and a pied hen.

I give up then. I'll stick with ducks. LOL.

Mine don't look like any of yours. Or maybe my eyes aren't working. I saw veins in both for one day and then the black mass just took over. I'll look again in a few, I have to get those ducks out of there.

That sounds like good timing. Good luck with not wanting to keep them all!

This is day 14 picture... but you can still tell the difference at your point with the dark mass surrounded with clear red veins.
