If only we didn't have to buy so many chicks, at such high shipping, to get what we want. As it is, I count myself luck if I get 33%-50% live hatch rate. Sometimes its great, sometimes its awful, and like in your case, sometimes its a complete surprise!

Right! I'm like... ok, if I get 12 eggs I MIGHT get 3 or 4.
Then I went and picked up some Swedish Flower Hens from a woman near me and they are doing great.

Now that being said, the black javas I bought are doing AWESOME. 100% fertility. One with a blood line.. but hey, that's fertile just the same. EXCELLENT buyer I think.

I just checked my bator & I have 2 chirping babies in my Lemon Blue Cochin eggs !!! YEAH

I also have 1 AM & 2 more lemon Blues I'm waiting on. Hatch day is tomorrow. I also got my replacement eggs from WHF for the LAV orps. He sent me 13, I just had to pay shipping. So

I would never hesitate to buy more eggs from him, he has very pretty birds & have bought a few auctions & have had very good hatches, except this last one, and he was very generous to offer to replace them.

It will be great when we will all have a plethora of poultry & we can ship free or cheap eggs between us, then paying $$ shipping isn't bad ! & ACTUALLY pay shipping not shipping/handling/gas/mileage/time/lunch for some elses crazy shipping costs, I JUST saw someone on ebay selling 6+ eggs with $19.50 in Shipping UH REALLY !!!

Yes! WHF Lavs went for 61 bucks today. NO FREAKING WAY I'm paying that for shipped eggs. Especially when you have them. And you'll want some Javas or SFHens.. so that's my plan on that.
