So is it possible Quackers they sent you an "extra" mystery egg in the auction? Does everyone here always hatch on wire ?

It's possible. But it would have been by accident. What do you think it looks like?

I don't know this Silver Appleyard breed very well. But I can't find a pic anywhere of one that is black. I don't know if it's some genetic thing.

I'm going to email the breeder and see what else he has.

I think it looks like a rouen or mallard. Khakis and cayugas are black babies. My moms rouens look like this Was the egg as big as an appleyard? Smallish?? Could be an indian runner.....

and then if someone could tell me WHAT THE HECK THIS THING IS??????? Because it ain't looking like an Appleyard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking Rouen too. The egg was the same size as the others.

Not a very prominant eye stripe for rouen though. Hmm...
