Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Oh BTW: 70 and SM- The hubs insisted that I send you both a bottle of _______ and _______ . (not going to tell you the names.) But one is made in Lawrence, KS (Thought you'd like that 70)

So those will be sent off shortly to you both.

Oh, I'd love some and especially some . I do like the Lawrence connection (having once visited there, as you know). That is very kind

I knew you'd love the Lawrence connection. I'd never heard of this one actually, so I got some for myself. Hubby knows ALL the good places since he's a salesman. Which means he eats in all the good places.

Ok, looks like I have to get 6 eggs from this lady, 6 is the minimum. Is $29 a good price for 6 SQ line WH? Shipping is included.

Celtic, I will deffinetly be interested in some for fall if your are laying then.

They are so sweet. You're in trouble. Julie has silkies, but mine were very quiet and calm. So so calm.

So are the cochins. Those are probably my fav.

Mine are very loud. They bawk forever after laying, or if they are broody(which is most of the time) they bawk whenever anyone else lays or comes near the coop or blinks. They aren't very friendly either, but not mean. Just seem slightly short of a full deck I guess, lol. They stick close to the coop or rooster, and seem to spend over half their lives in the nestbox not laying eggs. They don't come up to me like the mutts, but can't see to run very far or fast, lol. They are very cute though, make good incubators, and the main reason I have them is because kids love them.

Good morning guys. It is looking like the last duckling is going to make it! I am blown away at how this ducky has recovered! Seriously, this ducky's left leg was sticking straight up to where the foot was touching head, the same side's wing looked like it was sticking out of its back, and its neck looked like it had scoliosis. It just laid there on its back, crying and twitching the bent limbs. I thought I was evil to not immediately end suffering last night. And to see the little thing now walking around in bator with its limbs going the right way.... it's unbelievable!!

I want to give a special shout out to my hubby. Because of him, we have 6 baby duckies instead of 4. He's a special man!

Needless to say, when he brought up the EE eggs again last night, pointing out that we don't have many birds because hatch rate is only 50-75%, how could I say no? Plus, we got a call from a new ducky buyer this morning, which brings our ducky numbers down even more. SO.... as soon as I know when my cayuga eggs get here, I'll get some EE eggs to set a week later, so they will all hatch together. Hell, I may even get some more ducky eggs too... I want more anconas!!

Go little ducky, go!!!

Your hubby's a special man. Mine wants nothing to do with hatching anything.
