i really am sorry about that i feel like crap.. i havent been on much because i cant hatch yet.. and seeing all you guys get eggs and hatch was really hard on me.. not that its your falt.. no no no.. not at all so ive tried to stay off for a while to help me not feel like i need to hatch.. i cant sell mine, i get attached

and i drop in every blue moon to post one post with my phone and it TAKES FOR EV VER!!!!
sometime it wont let me post..

Lol, no problem. We miss you too!
Spring will be here soon though, you better be on here more once you can start hatching again.

Lol, my silkies spend most of the time in the coop. Then they hatch out babies and won't even stay in the yard, they are always next door. It's an empty lot and they have permission from the owners to be over there, but it's not fenced all the way and I don't like them there. 40 is a lot for over winter, I only had 25 or so and sold about 15. It's just too many to clean up after and feed that many when it's cold. That's why besides the girls I have now, I want to stick with banties from now on.

i think thats my limit is 25.. i have 8 that are pets for life.. our first ones..
i guess i did get carried away. but when you see babys in a brooder at the feed store you cant help it. lol..
so now i have to "clean up" before i can get babys.
i think id like to try some bantams but i think my husband would like the small eggs.. (i guess i can tell him thats why we have ducks??)

No reason for a sad face. It's all good! I'm pretty sure I actually know the lady.... and if it is who I think it is... these duckies are going to be THRILLED with their new home!!

I have a few girls that lay big eggs for cooking and all, but everyone here likes the little eggs for us, lol. They are perfect sized for the little kids, make cute deviled eggs, perfect snack size, etc.

UGH! How funny I think its a Manday! My hubby went to work only to turn around and come back 10 minutes later.... Stoppin around the house (mind you its 3:30AM) Then comes storminn into our bedroom and yells at me YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE ME LATE FOR WORK! WHERE DID YOU PUT MY WALLET! I replied " YOU put it in your lunch bag last night" (So he had it al along & man I bet he felt like such a Doosh Waffle!)

Where did you get your marans & what kind? I have some being sent out from the SmooshOffice on Monday! From Huckleberry Farms (Where I got Bluester & Berlioz)

My Marans eggs arrived this morning!

Packing job kinda sucked I think. 2 were cracked one of which was leaking clear fluid, so I did my first repair job with a crayon.

it stays sealed. I have high hopes for the one that wasn't as bad to make it, but I have my doubts on the other one since it was a pretty bad spider vein crack on the bottom of the egg.

So those of you that have repaired eggs with crayons did they ever make it to hatch? I haven't even started incubating them yet because they need to rest before going into the incubator, but I just kinda want to know what to expect with this whole crayon seal thing. I usually just toss the cracked eggs, but once I read that some people were using crayons to seal the cracks I figured I'de give it a shot.

I have used hot wax (the clear tea light kind) Obviously do not drop hot wax directly on the egg though! I used a tooth pick, & the chick made it.

But one must have many years of hot wax experience ~
