Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

i will get better pics of my monsters later.
and hopefully i find baby ducks this weekend.
i will settle for anything but mallard/rouen or pekin at this point

ok
off to my appointment.
i will talk to you when i get back .
deep breaths until then and hands off bator lol

Ok, babies are outside and they love it. Goslings are finding all sorts of stuff to chew on, the ducklings just follow the goslings. I think as long as it stays 60+ from now on I'll just keep them outside during the day and inside at night, much easier for me. They are only 10 feet away from my quail, so if neccessary I'll just take the quails heat lamp and put it on the ducklings to make it warm enough. The quail haven't needed it for awhile now, I just left it there in case we got some freak cold snap. Everyone else is pretty unhappy about the peeping babies, hawks came to check it out almost immediately so they are all stuck in hiding for now.

Christine... I had 9 broken eggs out of 24!!

QJ... sorry I dropped off on ya there. Darn work calls.

All righty then. This is what you are looking for:

13 pages? Wow, think I'm all caught up.
CG- My goosies and all packing peanuts came safe and sound. It was closer, but colder, so I'm sure yours are sleeping waiting for their new momma to come get them.
QJ- Can't wait to see little sfh chicks. How are the goosies this morning?
Chicks- Yay for the bei pipping. Since they are itty bitty do they have problems hatching like calls?
That's about all I can remember reading, lol. It's supposed to be 70 today, so happy! I got another roll of welded wire to redo the night time pen/coop. I need to go pick up a few bales of straw and get my spring cleaning done out there. Then get hubby to clear a few more trees to give a little bit more sun and I'm tilling their yard and sowing wild flowers and clover, hopefully some will grow for the geese to eat. Picking up my silkie tomorrow too, I'm going to be busy the next few days. Oh, and I woke up this morning and everyone in the brooder is all icky and messy. Goosies (who I have decided to name Elvis and Priscilla, it fits them better lol) are getting their own brooder today.

I have not had any problems with them hatching. They pop right out just like my mallards but never tried to hatch calls before.

I was going to until I realized how small they were, not enough meat on them bones
