Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Afternoon all. Craptastic day here. Internet went down, ok turned on 3G on the iPad, that wouldn't connect. Now I can't PM on here. This after a very long weekend getting lobster red sunburn followed by cutting my head open while work on the new brooders.
DG glad you have pips in the RIR eggs finally.
QJ love the pictures of your goose, please share more.

I work on that! I just tried to snap a few and she won't hold still.

Ha. Same in Missouri. Specifically the Ozarks. LMBO.

My sister lives in Pleasant Hope, near Springfield. I love to go see her every year. We even spent our hooneymoon at the Lake of the Ozarks. What a nice week.....

I'm happy to report that Eva and her buddy have gone to their new home today. I am so stinking happy for those ducklings... they will be the most spoiled PETS ever! I am also having hubby list a pair of our african goslings today, as he would like me to buy some toulouse dewlap eggs... which are $25 each (plus shipping). Ouch!

So... I am now thinking of naming my ancona boy Lollipop. And then changing the other ancona's name from Blue to Jolly Rancher. Get it? Jolly and Lolli? Of course you all do. lol

DG, YAY on the pips!!! Happy for you!!!

Marty, I'm glad you are enjoying it. Lurk away!

QJ, my africans LOVE to talk... and can already be loud at times. I can also see how they can be aggressive. But I'm ok with that, as they will be 24/7 free ranging on the horse pasture when old enough, hopefully playing the role of sentinel.

Hi everyone, specifically DG who is on here :)

Celtic, that is a bad day indeed. Hope your head isn't too busted up. Must have hurt like a bugger.

Work has been really crazy lately and really cutting into my BYC time (one of my colleagues has gone off to have a baby and we are feeling her loss in our extra workload). Anyway, I am hoping that it is slowing down a bit so I can relegate work to the low priority it deserves, LOL.

Glad you all like the pic of Chicken (see, QJ, I gave in and called him Chicken). He'll eat out of my hand now. I had wondered if a chicken raised duckling would be more stand-offish than a brooder raised duckling but he is fairly friendly. To me anyway. The chicken (ie the actual chicken) knows me and is happy for me to pick him up. She gets upset if anyone else picks him up though, which makes Chicken (i.e. the duckling) upset too. I kinda like that. Only I pass the chicken (i.e. the actual chicken) test.
