Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Thanks Marty, it's a one day at a time and plan the next days attack the night before. Very lucky to have a teenager who enjoys the farm and steps up w/o being asked.

Celtic, I'm continuing to pray for your hubby.

Have they checked for aneuryisms? Almost sounds like what almost killed actor Kevin Sorbo in the 1990's. If so, it'll be hard to diagnose, but can be treated.

At the table tonight, we were talking about whats in the bator. The girls said we should hatch an emu or ostrich... I told them rule #5. They got a laugh out of that.

My dad, who used to raise geese, said he used to get them the scraps from the school accross the street, and feed it to his geese, as well as grain based food. Anyone give scraps to their geese these days?? (This was in 1940's and early 50's)

GQ, make a sling seat. Plastic cup with a seat for the duckling holding the legs in proper position. Use smaller cups taped to the outside for food and water so pocket can still stretch those legs and get to food, but not get flipped, stuck or soaked. Think human baby bouncer seat, but for ducks.

Will try to get a photo of what I have Pocket in now. Still checking every few minutes to make sure she hasn't found a way out.

Marty, we have green grass year round so don't have to suplimental as much as those who get really cold. BOSS is a huge treat here though that they all love.

GQ, so many tests have been run that my head spins keeping track of them. PET, CT, MRI blood work, X-ray you name it.
