LMBO! I know. I'm used to seeing his name on FB. With the icon. He set me straight though. I'm glad squishy is doing well! I love my Fiona. Geese are sweet.

After talking to you today I set 26 more quail eggs from my hens. After losing the one last baby from quaillady today I started getting severe fluffy withdrawls. I also contacted quaillady about my 2 dozen replacement eggs. She said they will be here before the 24th. This is fine as long as I can get them hatched before my dozen cayuga eggs need to be put in lockdown, it should work out perfectly. My bator is gonna be jam packed! Mr. Brinsea will have no room for his racks and I will have to stack 'em in! Oh well, at least I will get some babies....

Your incubator is male? I would figure it'd be a girl...

haha
you sound like me.
it is a hastle
but it helps.

I've just got so much to take care of now that I don't want one more thing. Plus I have to downsize my duck population before someone calls the city. LOL. Or before my husband packs his bags! I was counting them today and I have 17 ducks and a goose. Although my neighbors love it... ya never know.

I'm gonna head off. Still recooping from the stupid time switch thingy. Almost back to normal though.

I have to go to the parents farm tmw and plant my strawberry plants that came today. :) Excited about that. I'll take pics.

hahah .
wow .
luckily you have nice neighbors.

i think my baby ducks are having a negative impact on my geese
they are a little on the shy side this week
unless we are outside sitting in the grass

Meet my little Twitchy! Despite his battles, he is doing GREAT this morning. The past couple nights when I went to bed I expected him to not make it to morning. He wasn't really able to use his right leg. It was pulled in close to his belly like it had been when he was in the shell. But when I checked on him this morning he was STANDING in the incubator! I almost cried. lol! My hours of feeding him and getting him clean and fluffy has paid off! I put him in the brooder and got a picture to show off.

Congrats Cass, very cute.

morning to everyone else.

Hubby got to come home last night, was nice to have him home again.

Have to gather all of the ducklings and deliver them to the feed store this morning. Also picking up a new 6 month old female goat as a new companion to ours that is left in the pasture.

Glad your hubby is home!

Congrats on Hubby coming home Celtic. Hope we all get our eggs today!!!!

I HAVE AN EXTERNAL PIP ON MY PEKIN DUCK!!!!!! They aren't due till Saturday or Sunday. My chickens were suppose to hatch first but some of them haven't even had the air cell dip yet. Should I up my humidity on the chickens? I heard that you don't even need mositure for them. I have it at 33% now. Upping the humidity in the duck incubator now. Will it hurt my goose eggs though? I don't think my African's are fertile and I only have one Sebbie that is dancing inside its shell.

Go little pekins!

Tell him "one who has better things to do with her time, and better role models."

Yes. Nothing wrong with preferring farm animals to friends. At least your quacks will never stab you in the back.

Just picked up 3 orpington chickens! Yay! Their sooo cute! The roo is huge! Like a turkey! The hens are so cute, and small. The hens are blue, rooster is black. So excited for eggs!

Whooo!

I got 2 beautiful baby Pekins!!

They are resting in the last little bit of yolk and stuff. One has its yolk almost all absorbed and the other one is close behind it. Nobody else in there has done anything yet. My chickens still haven't either. What should my humidity be for the chickens???

Congrats on the babies!

Cass, start helping. Shrinkwrap will kill. Remember to moisten a lot with q tips and stop when you see blood.
My husband reported that we received the Toulouse eggs (7 days in transit from illinois) and my cayuga eggs (2 days in transit from florida). I am excited about the Cayuga eggs. She did an excellent job packaging them. I seriously doubt that the Toulouse eggs are any good at this point, but I had hubby weigh and set them too. Ah well, it was only $35 and I have my precious buff dewlap eggs on the way.

It took me over 36 hours to hatch a shrinkwrapped duckling. I was so afraid I killed it when I saw the blood.

That reminds me, I'm going to candle my duck eggs. Yes. MY ducks. :) Love hatching my own eggs!

I've got four from my own ducks in the bator.

LOL. I can't find anything in the code about poultry here. I'm probably over the limit. Hubby keeps telling me he's going to make me sleep in the duck house if I keep bringing more ducks in...

Edited because I forgot to remark on everything I wantted to

dont feel bad, I can't keep up with him,lol Mom was terrified of geese until we got these last ones that are really sweet... now as long as they dont bite she even goes into their pens!!!!!!! thinking we might need a "Fiona"

I had to say goodbye to two of my ducklings today. I'm feeling good that the lady who bought them has had ducks before and she knows what she's doing. I'm going to have to get rid of at least four more from this first batch, so glad I got past selling the first few.

My BEI eggs came today! ChicksO sent me four extras too! The post office was good to my package, so that's a relief! I had allowed space for the 12, not expecting the extras, so now I've got a little creative incubating to do!

My turner keeps malfunctioning. I can't figure out if I did something to it, but it keeps coming off the turner pin thingy. You know the pin that hooks to the piece that makes the rails go back and forth... ?

Pocket is still the same. I think I might go and give her a swim in the sink. Glad to see Twitchy is doing better, gives me hope!
