Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Sue, I am playing catch up with emails after hubby coming from from the hospital. Will return the email hopefully tomorrow.

Marty that is very pretty. Do you have a fence along the road to keep them from wondering into traffic?

Peaches is our Lilac and she is in my avatar currently.

sitting back drinking some Gold Marquitas, No hatching for a week. Rest and relaxing. Robyn, my Buff duck, has been sitting on 5 eggs all day. She got off once to go for a swim, drink and eat and back to the eggs she went. I am going to try to candle them on Sunday to see if Jonny did his business before he left. I am so happy that drake is gone..

Someone said they had worse hatches from eggs sent close, because they travel mostly by truck and not plane which can be rougher. So I really want to just find some eggs/chicks/adults within driving distance for me.

Oh I got it a long time ago. And I love it. It keeps the temp and the humidity to a T. I only use it now to incubate in though and use the LG to hatch in. I have 8 Pekins and 12 Crelo chickens hatch over the last two nights. Now I get a break for a week and a half. Sold Jonny today and got more than I ever thought I would for him.... $25.00!!!!! No hesitation at all. the lady loved him.

Congrats! Glad he found a good home!

Marty, when I look at that wall I think "looks great, but what it really needs is a couple of lilac geese".

Ooh - that's exciting, SM. Hope she stays sitting.

It's a shame that Jonny didn't work out but them's the breaks! If he and Robyn mater anytime within the last couple of weeks there's quite a good chance the eggs will be fertile.

Hey Marty, love the new profile pic. Poor UNO all alone. Will you set more turkey eggs soon?

I allrady have set 6 more chocolates, and I got 7 of the midget whites. They are taking part in the hatch a long. Lets just hope by the time they get here either:
a - he knows hes a turkey
b- he's ok w/being a surrogat mama until he figures out he's a turkey.

Thats great SM. When DH realized how many eggs I was incubating (about 70, a new personal best) he kinda freaked on me.

Then, I told him how you sell your extras (as others do) and the light kinda went on. He's been out in the garage workshop every since. Now I'm scared.

hello everyone, it's been a busy day and over 100 post to read!!!! Celtic, I sent you an email 2 day ago I think... was wondering if you'd got it it was about Silver Appleyards.

She said you have 3 girls and a boy. Is that the question??

CG, that coop looks great. You gave me an idea - making a portable coop for babies to catch a bit of sun/outdoors time in.
Bakin', that was the most impressive piece of multi-quoting I have ever seen (on the previous page. Basically it IS the previous page).

Baking, x2. It was impressive.

Totally. And the lilacs will look even more unusual next to the white I'm intending to hatch out. Even one will do it. Green greass, colored rock wall, one or two whties and then a LILAC SEBASTOPOL!!

I'm so excited my belly button may go into convulsions!

One of my 5 week old ducklings in with the 1 day old ducklings. This one quacks, so do both magpies. The other 2 I'm not sure of, really hoping one is a boy. Think I'll try vent sexing them tonight.
I vent sexed some of the blue ducklings until I found 2 I am 90% sure are girls Psue. I put a drop of green food coloring on both their heads, hope it sticks for a little bit.

The rock was at the front of the property. The rock garden is back behind the barn and garage, about 2 acres South. What you just saw was the pedestrian rock entrance, and the driveway rock entrance. Further back, in the middle is the rock pool, and beyond that the two wells and barn and garage and rock garden for my SEBASTOPOLS.

Sorry, Im just so excited!!!

thanks 70 and everyone else.
i got the idea from iain so i cant take all the credit about the idea
it wasnt too hard to make and only cost about $40 to make (woulda been cheaper had we shopped around a lil)
the babies were ok with it. but abagail thinks she needs to b close to mom and hates being in a pen but she settled down,
im so glad i can put them outside for good parts of the nice days now.
their brooder is sooo messy .
