that's totally sucks. 5 though, wow bet you have loads of photos and great memories.Oh, Quackers is the name of an individual duck? I'm sorry about your old friend. I thought you'd gotten baby ducks, and something had happened to them.
my geese no long need turning... the eggs always right themselves... so I pulled them and put them in the LG without the fan on...temp is steady at 100.8 about the top of the eggs and closer to 98 on the floor. humidity at 60 % since the Embden egg is losing to much and I want to keep it from losing much more the other two are right at 14 %Thanks! The drake is definitely getting it in one wing.. But it just started within the past 2 days, so hopefully it is correctible. I just finished my next round of slow hatching the SA. All is going well so far. Plan to have her out by the end of the night, which will be about the time the other internal piper will be ready to finish hatching. Glad there are 2 of them as I plan to leave them in bator for another day, then put them in separate brooder tank for a couple of days.
In the meantime, my goose eggs are dipping today... So monitoring closely for shadows to get ready for them to go into lockdown.
I lost my Quackers Today![]()

Yes Quackers was the original duck. He and his pal Molly are the ones who started me on this journey.

That' very sad :-( I'm sure that you and Molly miss him a lot. If you find photos we'd love to see them here. I'm sure he was a beautiful boy.
Kevin, so sorry!! It hurts like a beatch to lose a pet.![]()
Sue, my eggs took a major dip in the past 12 hours too. They are rocking well, but no shadows yet, which is good, because I want to get my last 2 hatchlings out of bator before moving goose eggs over.
Celtic, ok good to know about feed and sexing my new baby. I am taking it really slow, and all is well with that baby so far. I have almist the whole top half off. Head not totally free, but he got his wing free on his own and is fluttering it. The remaining Ancona just finished hatching itself out and is sleeping. It has the bottom half of shell stuck to back and most likely around yolk sac too, so I laid him on damp paper towel and draped a 2nd damp paper towel over the shell. Hoping it will moisten and loosen up before he wakes up.
Glad I got a good nap in this afternoon, as I am not sure how long this will take before both babies are safely hatched out tonight.
Yes, we belcome all pics. Lol. DG: Where are they?Pics are always belcome on this particular thread, so, wheres the pics??? LOL![]()
So sorry Kevin. That totally blows.Yes Quackers was the original duck. He and his pal Molly are the ones who started me on this journey.

Pets enrich our lives and we are better people for them. Losing a pet is devastating, but it is also an opportunity to give another amazingly lucky ducky-to-be a great home! And your baby is always with you in your heart.
