Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

You are far braver than me.

There is no way I could do it. I wish they had some quick way. When I fed my snakes at college, I had to put the pinky (baby) mice into the freezor, that was the offical way there, and I felt like a murderer. I would rather have just put them in live, and let nature be what it is. I have a personal thing about harming living things. (even spiders)

Same here.

I can tell the folks who are on this thread really care about your animals. You all have big hearts. I applaud you.

We sure do. Welcome to our thread.

Thanks

You poor little thing. Hang in there DG.

Hope your not tired of our new babies yet, but between their teeny tiny size, and they way out of proportion giant feet, I love this crazy little things.

Here they are trying to hide between DHs big fingers. I have tiny little hands, and wear rings sized 5, but he has man hands, for a good comparison. They are eating, drinking and pooping, so I'm a happy quail mama today. The girls are ecstatic, and love them immensely.
Those are pretty much precious.

Ok, I deffinetly have a 2 internal pips on my geese! I think one is iffy though :(

But number 1 has internally piped, and is pecking on the shell as much as he can, moving, cheeping. OMG! #2 is peeping.

I just heard the ducks raising a ruckus. Hubby and I happened to be sitting out on the patio. When we ran over there I found the Ancona male trying to mate with a Silver Appleyard. She is obviously not full grown. Can this hurt her? Here are pics of her size.

She's a tad bigger than the full grown mallards.

I personally would not let the breed yet. IMO he's too big for her right now

Awesome, QJ! I can't wait!!

Just finished eating dinner. My dear husband made a feast and bought me a coffee espresso drink... I guess he had a premonition that I would be up all night again.

Getting ready to chip away at African more.
