Well? Depends. lol. A normal winter is in the teens/twenties.

I had 5 Anconas duckies hatch yesterday. they all seem to be doing good.

Yay!! Pics!

Bakin ~ If it is just since last night I would do the water boost for now, they have alot of goodies stored in their bellies at that age, that why they can stay in the hatcher for so long. I would wait for he/she to be more active, then decide ~ or mother nature will for you. Like the others said a few days at least, I am rootin tootin for this duckie! I mean it is not ike it is starving or in any pain

Its hard to see in the pic, but is the funky foot "complete"? I mean if you fan it out ?

x2

Here is a pic of the toulouse today. I'm washing the thing for under him, but it'll be back shortly.

The sebs are still moving inside, but no internal pips yet.they were set 24 hours after this one.

cuteness!

Or Kansas!

Or Oklahoma

In fact, my state may be passing an open carry law for handguns....strap that sucker on your side when you step out your front door and say, "make my day"!

Woohoo! Congrats!

My Easter hatch babies

this was a bit over half what has hatched I still have to get everyone counted but in the pictures there are Brown Leghorn, Rhode island Red, Buff Orpingtons, White Orpingotns, Lavender Orpingtons, Japanese bantams and Porcelain/Lavender Silkies

Lots of cute little fluffy butts!

here are pics of the one i am worried about

Oh my....am I seeing a toe turned backwards? Does it have all toes and webs? If it was me, and the foot fans out, I'd spread it's foot out and tape it to keep it fanned out. However, if the foot is deformed, and can't be manipulated into a normal shape, I'd be worried about what else is deformed in the baby that you can't see.

well ok here it goes.11 hahhpy HEALTHY babies in brooder (and 1 flippy lol)
as you can see flippy is the one with his legs out bhind him.

one of the grey babies,

hershey. the only black baby.

there are 3 blue babies they are much lighter and not brown than the pic

and introducing flippy.
he was fine all night so him and his buddy got put in the brooder. and now he keeps falling on his back, but can get himself over
his legs only go like this when he moves. they dont go out behind him tho. he gets around good. just gets ahead of himself and flips over.

now for the ICU babies

this is baby #1. his leg goes out to the side.
and is very weak. and barely moves.
baby #2s (baby in bottom cup of above pic) right leg goes out behind him. but he can hold his head up and peeps..

baby #3. just lays in the bottom of the cup barely breathing.

Ok...so I was going to get blue Runner eggs, but with incubation/hatching not going well, I decided to go ahead and get ducklings. I have 5 females, and a drake coming on the 16th. I have a lonely black drake that will love having some of his own kind....if I can convince him he truly isn't a sebastopol! I have one Call duckling that is supposed to hatch on the 17th, so if it hatches, it will need buddies and these guys will fit the bill.

the funky foot does no fan out and a couple of the toes look broken and his/her neck seems messed up and legs seem very stiff
