Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Forgot to tell you peeps that I have 6 eggs of mine in the bator that have heartbeats. I got that rush of warm fuzzy feeling.

PR eggs have nothing that I can see. In fact, I threw one out that was turning black on the bottom.

He is patient and calm, everything a duck isn't! Peeps at me, like hes comfoting me, instead of me helping him. It's like he knows whats going on, and is prepared to wait it out, and is happy to see me. His neck is a bit week still.

Awww. I know exactly what you mean. I just love my little Fiona. In fact, tonight on the way home from school I told my daughter that the goose died. (meaning the one we were waiting on to hatch.) And her eyes teared up... she thought I meant Fiona. I felt so bad.

I think this little guy is looking good. I bet tmw he's up and at em'.

Just sent you a PM. Post office brought them to the house, no phone call. 2 mushed eggs and 2 mushed eggs from my other shipment too. No wonder they brought them and dropped them off at the porch. Probably didn't want to deal with me opening the boxes and giving them heck.

Too bad. I hope you don't have the kind of post office that shakes them too. This is what i hate about shipping eggs, and I almost never do it. Lets see how these candle, and we can think about more eggs if you need.

Quackers your only on day 28 & they can hatch from 28-32 days. So even if the baby is at the bottom they usually will right themselves when they absorb all the yolk on their own. When they absorb all the yolk they have more room to "manuver", & that is when Mother Nature is telling them .... NO MORE FOOD now get outta that shell !!!
I don't worry really unitl they get to day 30. A lot can happen in 24 hours in the final days of development.

I have my next hatch coming today !!! Just came home to peeping in my bator another Wild Goosey! & I have 3 more to pip. They all look looked goos when I set them! I really reallly want these babies to hatch !!!!!
I just have a really bad feeling about this hatch because of what happened with the Silkie. I'm giving them another couple days. The runners are day 28, the BEI's are day 26 and the goosies are also day 28.

Well, here's Runner Ducklings! Hubby doted over them all day and called me every time he transferred one to the brooder.

Just thought I'd pop in to share my h*llish nightmare with you... I have shrinkwrapping on the outer membrane, tons of fluid and gunk inside the inner membrane and all sorts of wrong positioned babies.

Sounds familiar. Weirdness here too. I'm so paranoid and I just need to leave well enough alone.

Oh no! What is the DEAL!!

ETA: I'm so worried about my sebbie hatch coming up.

Someone said something about a full moon effect?

Sorry I couldn't catch up again. I was trying to multi-quote and all of a sudden things got really weird with the internet. Translation: I'm tired and probably did something stupid.

Haven't had any new pips since I got home. We'll see what happens. But hubby is such a doting duck daddy. And he's worried about this hatch too. So he went online and found some website that said to turn the duck eggs pointy side up??? Now we're going to argue over it. Just because you read it online doesn't mean its true!

Um.. I wouldn't do that. Just me. Then they're sitting upside down. Yikes.. good luck with that. At least hubby cares! Mine has been anti-duck lately. (but is in love with fiona.)

I think it was Celtic mentioning the full moon. And then I saw another post tonight about ducks hatching early. So weird.
