I knew about DG cuz she texts me, but are your Dewlaps from Celtic?!?

Your ordering more dewlaps? Wow, how many will that make you?

I thouoght of you an hour ago, when we had the baby dewlpas and luna out in the baby pen. Since I was out keeping an eye, since the top is open, I let out the Sebbies too munch on some taller grass at the same time. They found the babies, and never left the pen.

We put up a temp pen around one of the girls teepees, built out of the wood that falls from the ginormous ancient old mulberry in the background. Hubbie has decided since the geese mow so well, to stop mowing (mower also in background) and put up a fence accross whole back acre, so they can just all have at in turn. One day sebbs will get gardenw ith pool, and the dewlaps the larger grass paddock, and then switch. Each has grass, just one is smaller with a pool also. Now all will have equal opportunity for everyone I guess. It won't be long till the babies are big enough to spend more time outside. Everyone still goes inside at night.

QJ, my dewlaps are from Carole, same place I have been getting my eggs.

Marty, your picture is so sweet! Are you loving them?? How do the dewlaps compare to the sebbies? Got a favorite?

These buffs are my last babies and it will give me a grand total of 4 greys and 3 buffs. Then I also have 4 utility Toulouse babies (including Erin Toulouse), but I may list them for sale. Not sure yet, as they are sweet and do not cause much more trouble for me to care for them. But I do not want to keep them with my dewlaps because I do not want to risk them pair bonding with any of the dewlaps. My African flock seems to want them to join up, but my Toulouse are scared of them. Toulouse are quiet, slow, and docile compared to Africans so not sure they are cut out for 24/7 free range life.

Yes, loving all the geese. Way more personable and tidy than a duck could comprehend. My friendliest duck is not a patch on goose charm.

Now, while I love all the gooses, my favorite is Luna, Erins baby. Shes big and fat and sweet and cuddly. She comes running to me from anywhere, and leads all the little guys around following me in the yard, while they snack. Shes a doll.

Celtics sebs are very sweet, and not shy, and will walk right up to us outside, but they hate it when we catch them. LOL

Caroles goslings are darlings, and sweet and friendly too. Bruce loves his lone grey dewlap. Hope it and Luna are opposite genders, so I can put the grays together. Otherwise, she'll have to mate a buff.

Really? The few times I sale birds I always get at least 15 a bird. Everyone seems to want a duck down here. Even the ones not for sale

So do you have anything in the bator now?

I know what you mean! My Erin Toulouse was raised with molasses and is quite imprinted on me. It is so sweet with molasses and my silver apple girl, that I am tempted to keep it with the mismatched group, but it seems to like hanging with the other Toulouse, too. However, barley and spirit are my clear favorites.
