I thought Pet Quality Call ducks were supposed to be okay layers? I bought my white call as "SQ" but she looks Pet quality to me
. I get like an egg every 4 days

=) we will be ok. we will get thru this darn SWThat happened the other day with me....had a buff silkie chick launch himself out of his shell, and knock another buff silkie chick out of it's egg too early. Poor baby bled out in about 30 seconds. The little turd was lucky it wasn't a Call baby he killed!![]()
I checked on my 3 eggs, and they were SW, too. I figured that as dry as we've been. They've been rocking all day and getting no where fast. There are 2 blue fawns and a butterscotch.
Come on hatching buddy...we can do it!!
i thought so . but had to ask.CG, no sorry. If the yolk breaks they pass away. Infection, loss of nurishment and blood loss. It's a worst case situation with a hatchling.

seems to me that ducks are soo much easier to break then chickensLooks like taking the eggs broke the call's broody. Bruce is still going strong. She's going to be such a good Mommy![]()
