That stinks...sorry about your losses

You lost 2 due to busted yolks? Ouch! Mine aren't in the clear yet...they still have to get up on their feet. But they are fiesty and strong.
no.
i lost 1 lastnight to busted yolk.
2 other died in the night. 1 was the other upside down baby (i think he inhaled too much fluid)
and the other was very weak to begin with.

the one that busted his yolk today absorbed most of it. he has a pudgy tummy. he only had a tiny bit left when he busted it.
hes pretty string and spunky still.
once it dries upp i will snip it off if it doesnt fall off.
i gave him some vitamins.
i actually gave them to everyone.
so im kinda hopeful.

Oh...ok. Glad that one was further along with absorbing. Each of mine are in containers to keep them upright...they keep trying to push up and out, so helps with strengthening their legs. Doubt they will come out of the dryer for a couple of days, just like Butters.
I've got 4 butterscotch now....and there may be one more in the group of 2 due in a couple of days. I hope so....that's a low number to end up with out of so many eggs laid for the season. Next year will be different if it kills me!!!

i think hes fibbin.
i think he peed somehwere he shouldnt have lol.
LMAO!
WHAT'S THAT.........................................

oh yeah the sound of silence

I know that sound quite well.
Morning all.

Never got on yesterday, spent the day driving to other cities to work on my dads stuff all afternoon, and finally got home late and just ate and went to bed.

All my babies are doing well. My midget white turkeys ordered were due this week, but hatchery had to reshedule for June, due to a bad hatch. Glad I'm not the only one having turkey hatch troubles!

Goslings are all doing well. Duckies all smell (but well). Chickens are growing. I noticed today that one of my pheasant is a victim of picking, and either I'll put the two together alone, or something. Anyone have pheasants? Are they pickers??? I'd guess so, quail can be.

Bought the girls a new above ground pool yesterday at a wal-mart on the way home. They are very very excited. I'm just glad no water birds can get into it.

School is out now, so I'll actually get to check in more.

I want to say to EVERYONE that I miss you all, and I'm sorry I've been gone so much the last few weeks.

You know how it goes. Seems like work is over, do chores, then lots of other details to finish. Somebody has talked to me and wants to buy my dads house. Since we don't plan to live there at all (its only a 2 bedroom) we're also trying to go through stuff and clean. He was a bit of a pack rat I'm afraid, so its gonna be a busy busy summer, trying to do that on top of everything else. Oh well, at least he didn't brood ducks!!!
:(
Oh my, that is the sweetest little baby!
x2 (Celtic's pic)
LOL

That happened to my neighbor's young son, too. He was complaining about something bothering him all day, but he also had the chicken pox so she didn't bother looking until bedtime.
He won't even let me see it. So dumb.
Woohoo! Goslings are on their way! Shellie dropped they off somewhere around 12 -1 and I have been on USPS tracking them since! Oh! And she sent me a extra gander!

2 geese, 3 ganders. Will probably run all 5 together in spring... Or should I seperate in spring?
Just keep them alive til Spring and we'll go from there.

Congrats on your new buff baby, Dutch!!!! Carole told me her hatch went awful this week so no new babies for me, unless I want more greys.

Utah....any word on your goslings? My babies arrived safely today, though my gosling is older than the ones you will be getting. Carole said the buffs are winding down on laying, but the greys are still going strong.

Almost finished with new gosling side yards.... then we plan to relocate excess drakes to bottom of property afterward. I can't wait!

Yes, they do! I already have an email to her asking if she has any older buffs, because I'll take them instead of hatchlings.

No doubt...they do travel better, I think, when a bit older. She had my girl in a chick box with the chicks, and poor thing was way too big to be in there, lol. She rode in my lap all the way home from the PO because I couldn't bear to push her back down into the box. She's the same age as the last two, so she's pretty big.
