That sucks for the dog...probably due to stupid people.he is a fighter. but that is just making me more attached =/
and the ad was someone wanting to rehome their 3 yr old mastif who is neutered.
they say he suddenly turned aggressive.
so he would be a good gaurde dog .. blah...blah.blah
Is Barley hanging down underneath yet? Getting any feathers? Simon has jumped ahead of Marcel in size, and hangs down underneath a lot...real saggy like. He looks like he needs to pull up his pants. Post an updated pic of Barley...I'll see what I can do about posting one of Simon. Barley is older than Simon, so we can do a comparison. The last pic I saw of Barley, I was thinking girl...don't know why.So I am feeling very bummed about how things are turning out with me getting buff babies this year from Carole. She has a month-old boy available that would work IF Barley is a girl, but not sure she has any buff girls if Barley turns out to be a boy. She believes she killed every last buff baby in her incubator and her girls have stopped laying. I will call my bird dvm in the morning to see if I can get all my dewlaps vent sexed this week. Obviously, I'm hoping and praying Barley is a girl!!
In the meantime, my cayuga egg is turning and moving. Plan to put it in lockdown tomorrow and if it hatches, it will be Sat/Sun, but I have no babies to brood it with.

In ducky news... hubby and I built an 8x8x4 shelter for excess drakes today and sunk posts for 8'x20' run. Will get that fenced in the morning and am excited to move them over. The end of run is the cross fence into pasture and we plan to cut open ducky hole once transitioned to let them get into pasture.
ETA: Is it horrible of me that I don't really want this cayuga to hatch?
That's awesome! I was getting bummed for you...So.... I may have a trio of buffs to be shipped to me next week after all. Carole has 2 girls/1 boy adolescents. She is double checking dates of hatch to make sure they are same age or younger than Barley and sending me a pic with a hatchling for size comparison.
Still no baby to brood solo cayuga with if it hatches, although it is moving strong on day 25. I have the hatcher fired up and plan to move it later tonight or first thing in the morning.
SM, it has the toulouse stance like mine, but looks maybe buff? My guys' feathers are a very distinct grey, not tan.
They look quite happy with their pool! Cute babies, Marty!
I'll keep an eye out for it, but if it makes it this far, that's one special chick! I hope you find your baby!I lost a baby chickenI went out to gather babies up to put them away and one of my little polish chicks is gone. Its a black one with a white cap. Has anybody seen it? I have looked everywhere for it.![]()
