Thanks! By eyeballing my guy, he's one of the better looking birds in our county. Not too many people show waterfowl here. I think there were six ducks at the fair last year and most were what appeared to be pet quality. Maybe I can get a decent 4H bird for my son out of this guy. Got a few years to work on it yet.Cumberland blues are listed as
Disqualifications:
" yellow bills, feathers of any other color than blue forming one-fourth of plumage."
short, oval, flatten bodies
Bills that are weak, short, concave or pronounced "roman" in shape.
Should be-
Coloring:
Bill - drakes greenish-blue
Eyes brown
Shanks/feet smokey-orange to gray
Plumage
Uniform bluish slate throughout, with each feather of the back (especially in drakes) laced with a darker shade. Head upper tail cushion, and wing bows of drakes a darker shade of bluish slate. Drakes are typically one or two shades darker throughout than ducks.
It goes on and on but these are the big points. Each part of the body has a complete write up.

Iain, so glad it is nothing major. Also glad to hear the neighbors are so incredible, not everyone gets so lucky. #1's mom and dad are both very friendly, I wouldn't cross the big boy during breeding season though.they actually adopted the 4 buff American juveniles and move them around the pasture and in for the night when called. He (daddy African is named Buddy, and calls when I ask him Wassup) and will watch me doing chores and talk to me like he is giving instructions.![]()
Well I am having some eggs shipped to me on Tues !!!
I won 3 ebay auctions & I have a guy in Missouri sending me some eggs too!!
Marty: is this for angel wing treatment? I missed it, so what kind of bird? Depending on the type of bird, a tube sock with the toe end cut out, or for a larger bird, a cheap pair of leggings cut to fit (from the goodwill).Iain, glad number one is ok!
Celtic- I went through two small rolls of wrap today. I'm about to duct tape on a baby t-shirt.
Also had one of my ittle turkeys try to drown itself today. I happened to peek in on them just before it was too late. I actually had to kind of swing him upside down to get the water out of the lungs. Poor dear. Tood him several minutes to peep correctly. Hes a little weak still, but on its feet.
