Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I know birds can't be potty trained.... I know it's not possible.... but this turkey is making me question it. This birds has YET to poop on me. I have to handle her quite a bit. Now here's the strange thing. She was doing fine in here excerciser. Then she randomly starts sqawking. I get her out of it and set her in her other cage and she instantly pooped. Is this well normal?

Hi everyone! It's been busy around here. I hope all is going well.

a raised pee pee!!!!!! Oh man, that was really HARD to hold my laughter in. Throw a girl a BONE here, I feel like I am missing out all of the good stuff. I always get the SHAFT.

Hi everyone! well i am down to 4 out of 8 mini silvr appleyard eggs developing under my broody muscovy. their eggs seem very delicate compared to muscovy eggs either that or theperson needs to give her ducks more calcium. it could also have to due with my chicken blondie trying to pester the nest. after i found egg baby parts i wonder if my chicken blondie is an egg eater. she is too old even for a stew pot chicken. and mr blue the evil drake is no more...my coworker made curry. my welsh harlequin eggs are down to 9/10 probably for the same reason as the msa eggs.
I'd be a little freaked out if I found what you found.

Mmmm. Duck curry. Sounds awesome.
OKAY its official in my book THE USPS SUCKS EGGS !!!! LITERALLY

Talked to the PO today about the guinea eggs..... I got " We don't gaurantee 2-3 day shipping" HUH HUH ??? Then why say 2-3 day priority mail ??? OH & they had NO CLUE about where the eggs were.
Showed they were shipped on MAY 11th.
SEATTLE recieved them on MAY 24th
&
I recieved them on MAY 26th.

They said we don't know where or what happened. & Oh you are **** out of luck..... REALLY !!! This is what they do for a business. You pay for 2-3 day shipping & you get your PERISHABLE FRAGILE PACKAGE 15 days later !!! That is slower than the longest GROUND shipping !!!

FU PO

I hate the PO. Hate, hate, hate. It's not the ex-UPS employee part of me. It's the "scrambling my many beautiful hatching eggs, not holding them at the po like I asked them to, stuffing the boxes in the mailbox so hubby has to use a crowbar to get them out cause your lazy *** deliveryman doesn't want to get out of the effin' truck" factor.

So, I come on here after about a month's absence and the first thing I see is a chicken in a soda bottle. Only to be expected I guess.

Looks inventive.
Hey 70! We've missed you!
Rachel, glad to hear he is doing well. Waterfowl take forever to hatch. If he still had veins in the membrane a few hours ago, it may even be tomorrow before he's ready to come out. I would bet your thermometer is off and you are on the cool side, which will make it take longer.
Indeed. Waiting for ducks to hatch here too. And waiting. And waiting.

My little silkie duckling died while I was at work. I didn't think there was anything I could really do for it, but I tried.

1 for 12 then. Oh wait, 1 for 13. The other egg pipped and died. Not liking this silkie hatching. Next time: Holderreads does the work for me.

Better news: I have two new Silver Applewoods in the brooder.

Someone called my hubby looking for a specific duck. They are sexlinked by down color. One gender is yellow at hatch, the other brown or black. She said her dad had a friend who had them. Whatever they are. Ideas?

No clue unless they are sex linked. Congrats on the babies!

Hey quackers, so sorry about your silkie duckling! Um,.. What's a silver applewood?

Dutch, sent out this morning. She didn't want to risk sending them last week with the memorial holiday weekend. I am really hoping that they get here tomorrow, and it would be less than 24 hours in transit.

Hello friends and hatch buddies.

Busy right down to my toenails in all this executer crap. this stuff is complicated and hard, even though I'm an only child and sole heir.

I won't say more, but your reading the words of a frustraited lady whols nice is about to cruise north for the summer. Just had to vent a wee bit.

My poor turkey poult, hatched a few days ago and attempted to drown itself but I rescued, had succumbed to a secondary lung infectioin, no doubt from inhaling what couldn't have been perfectly clean water. You know how birds are..... Poor little guy was dead this morning. That leaves me 4 bourbon reds. Lets hope for two pairs!!!

I have a lone sebbie eggs turning in its shell tonight, with a nice tip starting and a beak working at the bottem edges.

If it hatches, that'll give me an even dozen geese.

DH has made me to 6 x 2 foot outdoor brooders so my goslings can be eating fresh grass w/o danger. The toulouse are doing great, and the the sebbies are just georgous. One sebbie is actually getting in a mix of gray and some buff feathers with the white. Its a calico!!!!

Haha. That's what my hubby calls the appleyards. Now I'm doing it.

I'm sorry you're frustrated. Been there.

LOL Quackers, I thought that was what you meant. I love my apples almost more than my cayugas, but Twist (my cayuga duck) and Molasses (my cayuga drake) are extra special.
