Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Cleaned my goose pond & it was quick & easy squeezy !
Pulled the plug & walked away....

THEN~
It took all about under 10 minutes to clean!

Came back put the pump in to siphon the goo at the bottom (ran some hose water to help the pump)
& pumped it out & nice and clean,
So filling it is the longest part but also the easiest

Will put Fish zole in the water to treat any bacteria.

Here is the pump ~

CLEANED my Duck pond ~ in ground ~ It took 15 minutes to drain & clean !!!!! I actually timed it.

10 minutes to pump out 300 gallons
Hose rinse the goo 5 minutes ~ READY to fill

THE BEST PART IS ~ that 15 minutes ..... Was non physical labor, just working that hose....

SO now we are going to put the above ground pond in ground! It look better & it actually took less time to clean. So my experiment is done for me in vs out ? Definately like it in better
Very nice set up.....now come build me one!

What kind of duck has a pom.
I think she was referring to Pomeranian geese? They harrassed my Sebs when I had them, too. Certainly didn't have them longer than 2 years.

My early pippers have given me two adorable ducklings running around the hatcher this morning. One still working. Guess the other ones are going to try and come on their due dates.

Well, I was informed this morning that my goslings had indeed shipped today...finally! But was then told they had had a growth spurt and the box was way small, so the goslings were probably going to be laying down the whole trip, and be wobbly when I first got them out. Really? Two, 3wk old goslings in a chick box. Really? Not being able to walk well upon arrival. Really?

Hey guys, dropping in to say hi too.

Jaz, that is a beautiful picture of your beautiful pup!! I really enjoyed seeing it! Thanks for sharing.

Quackers, congrats on the new babies!! If I forgot to post before, I'm very sorry about your silkie eggs.

I am glad to be home from my trip. Hubby did a great job taking care of everyone, but Spirit had a bad day and scared the heck out of hubby. She also developed angel wing in the past 24 hours. Plus, our buff dewlap gander presented with a limp yesterday afternoon that did not resolve today with rest in pen, so hubby called vet and scheduled a 9am vet appt for tomorrow morning.

Dutch, she copied me on that email. I was also very surprised. I wish we both had insisted she use the same size box that she shipped my trio in. I truly hope she is right and they will be ok.

At their age, they "should" be alright....my buff girl was, fortunately. She rode in my lap from the PO, didn't have the heart to push her back down into the box. I honestly don't know how she gets away with shipping them like that. Those chick boxes are for day old chicks. She copied me on the one to you about the grey dewlaps hatching. I don't want any more!

Hope your boy is alright...good hubby! Poor Spirit...yet another issue, though a manageable one.

Somehow another bantam egg broke in the incubator. I have them in the quail turner because the chicken turner is too big. Don't know what else to do, maybe remove them from turner.
