Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

We had very bad rain and winds last night. It wiped away the newest building (flipped it over and spread the contents). Too bad the contents was my buffs, started ducks, and a baby sebbie, and Luna my pet.

Actually, this morning so far I've recovered one gray dewlap, 4 buff dewlaps, the young sebbie, and 3 young khakis. I've lost one duck, Luna (Erins gosling), and a Khaki. Found the buff drounded (it blew into a koi pond) but no sign of Luna or the other buff.

I AM SOO SORRY ! Hope you find your babies!

. Luckily we didn't get any rain today

. I reinforced all the pens and let everyone out. Bruce is reunited with the kiddos and is doing fine. The other geese were not happy to be touched though

Its 6:30 now and I have up 10 minutes ago. All other adults are fine (and Celtics four were just dandy)

Celtic - If you need another ear, you know my number and may feel free to use it. (Did I mention 3 of 5 brothers, my DH, and my folks were all military)

Hope the storm wrecked no great violence elsewhere.

Oh, my quail are hatching again.

I am so sorry!
Dutch, thanks! Spirit is doing GREAT! She has been getting up and moving around without any problem ever since the procedure, so she has not needed the sling. She is still in required to stay in her 3x5 indoor pen with 30-45 minutes grass turnout into her 3x4 outdoor pen until our next appointment Monday morning, but I am also letting her out for a few minutes in her room (when cleaning pen) and she is actually running around on the carpet like a normal gosling.

My buff boy is not doing so well. He showed improvement with the meticam shot but it was only a temporary masking of the problem. We are now on day 5 since he first came up lame and I'd put him back at a strong 2 again. So, I called my new vet this morning. Unfortunately, they are totally jammed up today, so they had me record a video and email them to show current condition, instructed me to give him another meticam dose, then bring him in at 8am tomorrow for xrays/exam.

I am so frustrated with the 1st vet I could scream.

Glad Spirit is doing so well. Sorry the first vet was such a lost cause.

Morning all, super late start to my day after not stopping until after 10 last night. Hubby is back in the hospital, met with his new team of Doctors yesterday and his admitting DR seems committed to finding an answer. Thanks for the well wishes.

Iain, hope the buff boy recovers, he may need lots of restricted rest/quiet time to heal up. Warm swims are always easy on stress injuries.

Dutch, glad the new goslings arrived ok. Male Africans are just always more vocal from what I have seen. My gander doesn't care for anyone but me, so they are rear pasture birds most of the time.

Thanks Sue, the 14 yr old is a huge help from laundry to chores to fencing and even cooking. He will step up anywhere something needs done. Heck he even helps with diapers too. Great kid and I don't know what I would do without him. Just finished chores, time for breakfast people pool time and lunch then nap for the mini person so I can hit the hospital.
