I know my thermomter was running high
so I hope it was not that hot !!

thermo is off about 2 degrees

If it wasn't at 105 very long and they were still moving they should be ok. Hopefully they pop out soon.

I candle mine constantly. Right up until they hatch, as long as you're quick and don't drop the egg it doesn't hurt anything I think.
I'm getting frustrated with my incubator. I set the eggs last night, everything was fine but now my thermometers are off. The one that came with it says 97 and the digital one says 103! They both said the same thing all last hatch and up until today, so I don't know which one is right or if one side is hotter? I just switched sides they were on, and now I'm going to see if I can find another thermometer laying around somewhere to stick in there too.

a few days ago mine did that too

i went on line and ordered 2 more dig ones

I just wish this was EASY

they where all the same before lock down

so you candle during lock down??????

i did not think I could

Thanks for the support
I need it right now

You aren't supposed to candle during lock down because you can shrink wrap the eggs. I try not to open the incubator once I see pips, but if I have to for some reason I just spray the eggs with a little warm water and candle them real quick while I'm in there anyway. If I'm hatching chickens I dry hatch, and don't worry about humidity anyway.

It lowers the humidity when you open the incubator. If you dry hatch though, the humidity in the incubator is the same as the room it's in, so I don't think it shrink wraps them. When my broodies hatch chicks they get up all the time to eat, drink, let another hen in to lay an egg, etc up until they start to hatch, then they set tight. Since momma chicken doesn't do lockdown until hatching, neither do I. She knows more about hatching than me, lol.

yup shes got it right.. you need the humiditdy to keep the ???Skin??? inner layer of the egg membrane to be plumpy and easy to rip when you open it it takes the mosture from the membrane and turns it into a rubbery sometime HARD like layer traping the chick inside

Thanks for all the help
