i wish they had auctions near me! good finds!
Our guys are just the reverse! We have to beg and plead them to help us...usually we end up doing it ourselves and it turns out looking awful! LOL They have helped us with a lot of stuff...don't get me wrong, but not without complaining. When they start to complain we just tell them if they don't want to help, that's fine, but we aren't going to have time to fix their supper because we'll be building the pens instead. They usually come around. ; )

Aww, thanks. Lil Chocolate duck is a real cutie..but she is as wild as a march hare! LOL
Your lucky.... Imagine if you had 2 poultry auctions EVERY Saturday year round.... within minutes of you

Aspen I would get you some eggs when they start laying ! My fave sebbies are the smooth ones with color. I think when I hatch out again this year, I am going to weed out the curly breasted ones. They are both purdy but I definitely like the smooth much gooder

They had a few different kinds, and I have seen sebbies, and a pair of Dewlaps at one time. The dewies went for like $15 each, and were very pretty. I however could not buy them at the time they came in

Lots of Turkeys too ~ All breeds and ages. So many different things that threw week to week. Seen hamsters, gerbils, finches, pet type birds, rabbits, etc. too

I see they have storage unit auctions here too

Auction is like a box of chocolates....
I like both the smooth and curly Sebbies...they are all so lovely!

Honey, if there is anyway I could get some goslings or eggs from you..that would be amazing! Where did you get your start in Sebbies from? If you end up rehoming your curly Sebs..please let me know. I would probably be interested in some or all of them! Where are you located?

What prices do you usually get for day-old chicks/ducklings?
BTW - RG, there is an emu breeder not too far away. You want me to get their e-mail so you can talk to them about raising emu?? I'm not going there, but I wouldn't mind having a few eggs......
Enabler????! LOL
IS this why you need the big bator?

Today was a big day here... birds left and new birds came. I wound up with an extra gander in my dewlap yard and my production Toulouse, Chicory, was left as the odd man out. Plus, we suffered our 1st loss the other day. One of our blue scovie girls disappeared in daytime without a trace. The remaining blue girl got really depressed as the other ducks would not accept her.

So I traded a pair of dewlaps with my rescue sanctuary friend for a white fronted goose and two scovie girls. The goose is very sweet and Chicory instantly began pairing up with her. And, our blue scovy girl is thrilled to have new friends. I was bummed to see another pair of dewlaps leave, but pleased that our lonely gander and scovy girl are happy now.

We got back late and I rushed to take pics, so they are really bad. But here they are, our new goose "Beignet" and Chicory saying hello for the first time.

And our blue girl with her new buddies:

Oh Iain! I'm so sorry for your loss. Poor girl. I'm glad you were able to get your lone scovy girl some buddies and your new goose is precious!

My sebbies (0ne of them) laid her first egg today. I went over and checked the white africans and toulouse, but only the sebbie is laying.

I'll take it! I guess I'd better get an incubater going, to test fertility. (and I don't really mind doing a little HATCHING though)

Congrats Marty! Your first goose egg, hopefully the rest start laying soon for you too. Home grown eggs are so much more fun than shipped any day.

Aspen, congrats on the fertility and nice new stalls coming along. Have some pictures for you, will try and text them over soon. Setting all three breeds of geese and all breeds of duck weekly now, plus the pair of dewlaps that left to be shown will return soon. Oh and of course live birds shipping in everyday Tues - Sat this week, plus a few shipping out too. prepping a box to ship to Hawaii here shortly as well.
