Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Congrats on the new goats! I know what you mean. I already have 6 different yards to keep my breeds, colors, and non-breeders separated. Thank goodness my ganders are sweet enough to keep group yards without fighting, and my original two pairs on my horse property want nothing to do with my breeder Africans, or I'd have to make twice as many yards. And that would be a royal pita!

Congrats on having at least one male buff!!!

They are all absolutely adorable, also love the names!
Wow, Quinn is my middle name! I don't run into it much on geese or people. :thumbsup
I dated a guy for a long time before I met my husband, he was the first Quinn I had met

# 7 just hatched. I'm worried about it. It had started to zip, and then stopped for a while and the membrane shrink wrapped around it, I tried to keep it as damp as possible, but when I left to get my kids from school it dried out a bit. It was hatched finally when we got home, but the shell had dried onto the ducklings wing. I took a cloth with warm water on it and gently wiped till the shell and goo came off (kept it up under a heat lamp while I was doing this). It's umbilical cord looks a bit bloody, none of the others did. S/he's very active and vocal, so I'm hopeful that it will be ok. Is there anything I should do that I haven't? Also, this is the duckling that pipped on the small pointy side of the shell, instead of the end with the air cell. I think if this one makes it, we'll call it Lucky.
