Hi I had posted a while ago and got some great advice about letting momma duck sit on her own eggs- - hatch day was yesterday! We have East Indies- 11 eggs total- at last candle, 10 were good- 1 was not - got 2 babies yesterday and 1 baby during the night because when we got up this morning, there it was! 3 total....question for the experienced on here...once the first starts hatching..how long, how many days until the other ones hatch? Hoping for more healthy babies but we'd be happy with the three we already have as well! Thanks for any advice! Officially, its been 24 hours now since the first egg hatched. Thanks!
Congrats to you and momma duck! They could take up to 72 hours for all to hatch, after all, they weren't all laid on the same day.

Dead jealous! congrats! Love the name! So lucky you can tell the sex straight away.

Just had to help mine, the one that pipped hadn't gone through the membrane which was drying out and sounded distressed, then realised egg no 2 was in the same boat. Helped them so now can breathe. Egg no. 3 was squawking like mad but no hole so was worried he was suffocating, turns out he was shrink wrapped. Made a teeny hole like 2mm for him to breathe, bled abit so put straight back in wrapped in a warm wet paper towel. Other 2 eggs aren't cheeping or pipping. Going to leave those. Hope they will all be ok, and hope I haven't done any damage. The first two looked all absorbed from what I could see but obv not the 3rd one. I know you aren't really meant to help but I could tell they were struggling. Today is day 30.

Oh my goodness! What a stressful day for you. I am crossing my fingers like mad hoping for the best for you. Please update me. Our little girl Thelma is all over the incubator; she is strong! She went from having little progress to breaking through the shell FAST. I could not believe how fast it was. My first time ever seeing anything hatch out of an egg. I was tearing up, I admit. Simply amazing. Our other egg is making progress, but it will be a while yet.
gwackers, keep me updated on your progress hon!

If all set at same time, they should all hatch on their own withen 24 hours, but I'd allow another day if you can.

Thanks Nebraskagirl, I will keep you posted. Hope they make it through the night, I took a couple of pics, bit rubbish though, hope the veiny one will be ok. Get a pic of Thelma when you can! Glad to hear she is strong!

Well, I finally have a goosie pipped! I've been impatiently waiting for these eggs to do something, the air cells were getting huge, but nothing until this afternoon.

I've also got active duck and chicken egg action. My friend down the road insisted that she didn't give me any chicken eggs... but...

My best part of the day was hitting the Goodwill and finding a brand new kiddie pool for $3.99.
