Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Give them some more time. Maybe they are being stubborn. If they were moving on lock down then that's a good sign.

That was me being positive!

I think my little ducky is a gonner.

Ugh, I don't know. It's not moving. It hasn't broken through the air cell.. It was due on the 14th.. so who knows.
The other little egg in there is moving, but not a lot, and I don't know when it's due. Lol.

mine where due on the 16
I marked it down

12 where moving
1 hatched on Sat 17 but not doing well

nothing on the other 11

should I candle to see if I see anything??

how do I know if they broke thru the air cell?

Since they are 3 days late I would candle a couple and check for movement. If they are in the air cell you will know because you won't be able to see it in the egg. The egg will look more full. But you could also just hold a couple up to your ear and listen for tapping.

I think if they are late they might be tired, and a little folded up for being in the shell an extra few days. My late hatchers take a day or 2 to uncurl and get up moving around. Try to get some sav a chick or pedialyte in the hatched one. If they are late and not very active you might have to help the last ones out of the shell, but be prepared for them not to make it either way.

I got everyone's cards in the mail, barely. I set them on the computer so I would remember to mail them before signing on to BYC

. My 2 year old found them before I had a chance though, and was hiding in her room with them. Luckily I found her before any damage was done, and they are on their way.

Critterrun- The little white pullet I have was a late hatcher, and I thought she wasn't going to make it forever. She couldn't stand, or hold her head up for a few days. So don't give up on them yet.
