Julie I have been thinking about getting a couple of Midget white turkeys this spring, can you tell me about their personality and do you keep it with your chickens and ducks?

Mine is pretty sweet but not all lovey dovey in my lap like some turkeys are. She was 3 months old when I got her, and wasn't handled much before so I'm not sure if that's why she's shy. She will call to me whenever she see's me, or if she can't see me but knows I'm outside and wants to know where. She's in with the chickens and ducks, but she won't sleep in the coop unless I take her in. They have a covered predator proof run and there's a roost in it about 7 feet up that her and a few of her chicken friends sleep on every night instead. She can fly about 50 feet at least, from what I've seen her do. She doesn't go anywhere though, she respects the fences. She will stand on cars though and leave muddy tracks everywhere.
roll.png
She's pretty nice to the chickens, but will chase one around every now and then if it makes her mad. She doesn't hurt them, and will leave them alone once she thinks they've had enough. If one of the chickens hop over the chicken's yard fence into the main yard she'll hop out sometimes and herd them back in.
lol.png
She has a lot more personality than chickens. About as much as ducks, just different.

6+ would be perfect. I'll probably have 6 broodies at least, that would be a lot of mommies and babies to keep track of.

Too bad you're not closer, I'd give you my ancona girl.

Too bad about having to sell some of your ducks.

Hopefully something will work out with them.

Thanks I was hoping they could go in with the chickens, my ducks sleep separate from them. Maybe she'll give my 2 orps a run for their money, these 2 girls pick on my bantams they don't hurt them but love to imtimadate them. My brahma hen has a little bantam cochin for her best friend.

I would love to have your girl. I would pay good money for her to

Yeah, I dont want to take any of my ducks to my dads cause he will more then likely sell them and tell me they ran away. Thats why I wod rather just sell them myself.

70%cocoa :

So the whole plan to have ducks at your Dad's is off? What's the background story there?

Yes, that plan is off and my mom is letting me have them here.

If I take them to my dads, he will just end up selling them anyway (cause hes a jerk) and tell me they ran away (basically lieing) he also said he was gonna give me money to get them, but it was gonna be my christmas and birthday money. So basically hes just being selfish, and my mom doesnt want to see all my money going in to new ducks, and them just up "getting lost"
roll.png
so he can just use his own money and get his own ducks. He also wanted ME to use MY money to buy HIS geese!

he makes me nuts!

Yeah, what she said. What's up with the "on/off" thing going on here? I don't like that for you.

Me thinks you need to get the rest off. Or it may grow into her skin. She will be awfully embarassed walking around with gauze hanging out of the back of her head.
If it won't come off you might have to have someone hold her and jerk it off real fast, it will take the top scab but will probably heal over pretty fast.

Oh Miss Lydia... I don't think I can do that. I'm scared. It would really hurt her. And I'm a big baby. Maybe the soap I applied will soak in and have a loosening effect. (hopefully?!?!)

SM: Gave me some great ideas to start with.. I shall exhaust every one of them first. And we'll take it from there.
