OK good. Not to many other "non-urban" people. You should see some of the looks I get when I start talking chicken around here. LOL. Or my personal favorite question: "So you don't have a rooster? How do your chickens lay eggs then?"

My mom grew up on a farm and still tried to tell me I needed a rooster for eggs. In her defense it was an actual working farm, not a hobby farm, though. They grew corn. They'd raise a few bottle calfs, a few pigs, and batches of meat chickens for themselves but didn't have layers. There's a dairy farm up the road, and a lot more corn/soybean growers, but I've never seen chickens while up there visiting.
I've also been told a few times I need special "layer food" or I won't get eggs. Really? Cause mine seem to do awesome on gamebird/scratch/oyster shell. They do ok on layer feed, but I'm done with that after this bag.

Well been crazy here ! TONS of snow (we live in WA where if we are lucky we get a couple inches) Then it melts by the afternoon. We have power outages, HUGE limbs breaking due to snow weight, we got 18" + of snow in one night !!!

cause it is my "independent" work. and she expects me to do it by myself.....

You should try to do it by yourself, but there should be some one there to explain it if you can't get it. Otherwise what's the point? That's why homeschooling really irks me. It's ok if done right, but I don't see it done right very often.

I'm done too! I don't see a bit of darn difference in feeding Layer vs scratch, corn, etc.

I finally told my hubby, "I'm not going to roll my eyes at people naiveness, I'm going to be happy someone is asking a question about my birds." Most people don't really care at all!
