That's priceless! :lau I do so love the naked necks. I want one so badly but I have an awful time finding them, ugh. I was gonna get some from Ideal while I was getting some bantams but of course they were sold out.

:) funny girl! Wow, my gander was aggressive today! I thought he was going to be an exceptionally well behaved boy, but some switch must have been flipped when his mate made a nest and laid an egg. He ran at me and tried to bite my leg this afternoon. Glad I was wearing jeans! He tried it a second time and I grabbed him around the neck. He didn't like that and didn't come after me again.

Oh no! Halloween is still on his best behavior. He hissed at me once, and I threw a snowball at him.

The girl is laying, but they haven't started nesting/guarding that yet so we'll see what happens then. Luckily she's happy with the coop for nesting, so they won't be disturbed and will be away from the kids.

I've been dodging an aggressive gander a lot lately at work. Twice I had to give him the chest bump/back him down/grab his neck dance.Yesterday.

He came after one of our student crew. Poor kid didn't see him coming and almost got it good. Glad I was there.
I found the aircell tonight

I bought more than I should have at auction today. I managed to fit them all in incubators, but now I don't have an open hatcher, so I have a week to fix that little problem. Oh, and I have 18 more eggs coming on Friday. I'm in for it. But hey, more fuzzies can't be all bad!

It's silly, but I'm so proud that I finally bit the bullet and bought feed in bulk. No more stupid feed store bags unless next winter gets too bad for me to make the trip. In case anyone wonders, a half ton of feed fits pretty well in three 55 gallon drums.

Quick question.... My ducks are setting up a nest, not sitting yet, just laying. I went in to count eggs and found that one of the eggs in the bottom of the nest has been broken. There is shell and yolk on several of the eggs now. Should I take all the eggs out, clean it up and put the eggs back that aren't "yolky", or take them all out and hope my girls start again...?

I would pull all of them and let the ducks start laying again personally. Of course I'd put all I could "save" into the bator
