Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I paid for 12 ands she sent 18!

Another question though, all of the air cells are wiggly. Do I need to set them big end up without turning for any certain amount of time?
i had wiggly air cells!, i cut sponges so that the eggs could be propped about 45 degree angle and rolled them side to side, opposite directions, 3 x a day and after 2 and half weeks the cells righted themselves, keep the bubble up at the fat end and as the chick grows, it will hopefully right itself....i had one that hatched and one that didn't...

It's been over 24 hours, so I think I am going to set them. The majority of them aren't too bad, but they are wiggly. I think I will incubate them upright and unturned for the first 3 days, and then lay them on their sides.

my worst wiggly air cell, that actually hatched didn't get right until i was almost ready for lockdown....i kept it propped all that time and one night at turning it was wiggly, the next night at turning it was not...really wierd....but i got the cutest copper colored duckling outta that one...totally worth the extra effort!

It's hatching apocalypse week here. Got home to a couple early birds. A pekin and a chick surfing on the egg turner. They were due to lockdown Wednesday.

So I madly rearranged eggs, ending up with about 20 eggs in the cabinet and everything else locked down early... just in case.

I only have one appreciable hatch left for a while. Bators are getting empty. I don't know what to do with myself. I'm tempted to drive across the county and hit the little farm store that may have some refrigerated, but fertile duck eggs...

Well, today my lone Ancona girl (still have 3 boys) came off her nest with 11 baby Anconas!!! She's doing just amazing too, she's an excellent mama duck. Only one egg didn't hatch, so she's a way better incubator than I am for sure!! Tough to top 11 of 12.

Still waiting for the last goosies to come off their nests.

Hooray! So exciting!

I know! We all trooped out and peered at her and her giant flock of speckled yellow ducklings from around bushes and trees all morning. We were probably funnier to watch than she was. And if anyone came to close, I fussed at them before mama did. LOL.
