I have 5 Indian Runner ducks, 1 Aylesbury, 1 Cayuga and they have a daughter who he prefers to his wife - Ewww. Oh and one cat and 2 kittens! But the male to female ratio is bad, it's like 1:1 I don't mind moving the big ducks to someone else, though no one seems to want them, but the runners are my little babies I hatched. I wish you could somehow know what they are going to be before they hatch. Or at least have them neutered!

I would love pet ducks!! When I'm in my own house it'll b the first thing I do. Are Indian runner ducklings yellow too? I'm confused about what Eric is lol. Sorry not been on in a while, preoccupied with my fluffy 6 and two cake orders on the go! they're not with me this weekend, I miss them. I'd love to know what sex they are too, how long till you can tell?

Btw no progress from the other eggs so I opened the airsac end an peeped in, all 6 were dead, two had a lot of liquid under the internal membrane, the other 4 didn't, no internal pips and couldn't see a beak anywhere

I'm so sorry about the rest of your ducks. That sucks. At least you've got those 6. Cake orders as well as teaching! Cripes! What cakes are you making? I vent sexed mine at day 3, there's a good how to vid on the metzer farms site. Knew one was a boy straight off. But yeah I'm only now learning that 2 others are boys and they are about 2 months old. They are getting raspy quacks. If you still aren't sure then wait even longer till they get curly tail feathers if they're boys. Runners come in all different colours. Have you seen a pic of mine? With a week of hatching they were all standing upright like bowling pins which is what the breed is famous for. Really sorry again about the other eggs x x x

my babies are afraid of water! lol, never thot i would see that! took them to the creek, they wouldn't even go near the water...and one of them foraged up a little water frog on the bank....it jumped into the water and they all scattered....too funny, wish i would've taken the video camera!

Haha, ducks can be such scaredy cats sometimes! Mine were scared of a squirrel the other day and today it's crows!

My lot last year didn't like wage much bu this years lot seem happy enough. I know, I don't know what happened, all 12 were alive on day 23 but as others hatched 2 days early and I had to take them out I'm wondering if lifting the lid did anything? Ooo I'd love to know what sex mine are, will try finding the info, I won't have them long enough to watch for curly feathers I had cowboy and Indian cupcakes picked up today and a wedding cake order for Tuesday, I must be mad lol.
