Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I'm not an expert but they don't look fertile to me....I might be wrong but my eggs had bright red veins at day 6 and you could see a heart beat. I don't know what the line is but it might be the separation line between the air sac and the embryo? I found a website that had candling pictures of chicken eggs: http://shilala.homestead.com/candling.html I want to see what other people who have more experience have to say....... I hope the ducks are alive! Are they all like that? Maybe they just need some more time to develop.....

well I saw your post on the oct hatch a long...

I don't think they are looking fertile

this is a web site from a college...I think....anyway it has a great candling chart for each day

the color of the fluid in a viable egg would be orangish red with veins by now...you can put them back a few more days to make sure....

I think what your seeing in there is bacteria growing...been there done that!!

are those your only eggs?

it does happen especially if they are shipped and ducks are harder to hatch already...I'm sorry! but I would leave them until they are over 10 days before you decide

there's been a few times I thought an egg was done but left it a few more days and was surprised when I saw veins...good luck!
