Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

He does look a little blue... now you have to just wait a bit more, they do get really tired, then go for a while, then rest up. That is normal. I'm encouraged to hear he was moving and progressing still. Hang in there. Keep him warm and humid and do as little as you can bring yourself to do.

Hey update for my peeps:

The blood vein is actually attached to the duck (cord) it's very thin. And as he is pushing there is a tiny bit of blood. Not so much that I'm worried in any way about it. There is also the poo looking stuff like 70% said.

It honestly is still hit and miss with this guy. He's not out of the woods at all. I'm setting the timer to go out there every 20 minutes to talk to him.. (I really am.)
But he has managed to get all the way out.

Here's a pic.

Yes, I agree

The colour of his legs is normal for a bird that will end up having blue feathers. I wouldn't be worried about his circulation or anything like that.

Just sit tight like a good mommy duck

Big foot is wiggling every where trying to get free. Its funny, twist one way, then try to roll. This baby is strong. But those toes are swollen.
