My ducklings are 8 and 6 weeks old. The 8 week olds are as big as the ducks (but not as big as the drakes) and the 6 week olds are not far behind. You could try it at 6 weeks since you don't have a drake. Your females may still be a bit tetchy about it though. Just guard them and be ready to step in.

OK, I was wondering with the weather. Right now it's probably low 30's here, but beaker doesn't seem to mind the cold. They sleep far away from the lamp, so I wasn't sure if he was ready to go outside or not. Think I'll wait a couple more weeks.

Red Rocket Racer
Neville the Knee-mobile
Rudolph (as in the red nosed reindeer)

Neville the Knee-mobile is great.

A wreath would be great, maybe some battery powered christmas lights?

I think Beaker is a boy. The "duck whisperer" in me is seeing some Drake like qualities. I think Bunsen is a girl. But they are brother and sister so they shouldn't do the nasty right?

Ah, yes, it's winter..... 30 is about zero celcius which is not a problem for ducks. They will be fully feathered at 8 weeks so wold be fine at that age for an outdoor adventure. I still think they'd be fine at 6 weeks too.

My human children are down for a nap so I'm getting in the shower. It's becoming a dire situation here. Stay at home moms holla!
Evelle-You can smell what I'm steppin' in. Showers are precious to us. Julie NkC can't remember if you stay home too.

I'm not sure who smells worse.. me or the chickens in my kitchen, who all the sudden today, are entering stinky phase.

Haha - definitely antlers on the handlebars.

Beaker and Bunsen will most certainly do the nasty. Being sister and bro won't mean anything to them. They have a different set of laws in Duck Town.

There's a weirdness in the air here. The crows are going crazy so I know that hawk is around. All the other birds are still and everything is looking up towards the sky. My poor adult girls are aprehensive about moving from their one spot. I think they may need some couseling after their ordeal. I found them in the window well. Anyone recommend a good poultry pshyciatrist? (sp)
