My chicken is sitting on a duck egg, and 9 banty eggs. I candled the duck egg(the chicken eggs were added 10 days after the duck egg) and it's growing! It's gorgeous!.
We did it just to humor the broody chicken. I didnt expect the duck egg to be fertile(mom pekin dad runner), figured it was just to make the chicken happy.
Maybe I'll get a new duckling out of it?

From what I've heard the mother chickens get a it worried when the ducklings want to swim!

I've just been holding a duck in my lap and she was nibbling my hair. As it turns out ducks have quite a lot of saliva

Mine always try to go up my nose...hair nibbling ducklings would be nice.
