Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I would just try to keep the humidity at 35-40% then. Set your other incubator up a day or so before lockdown, and use it to hatch with. Day 18 for chickens, 25 for the geese and ducks.

So put all the eggs in the hova bator first then move to the LG right before lockdown? I have always kept my humidity around 70-75% during incubation, and then up to 80-85% at lockdown for my duckies. Had good luck

Iain I'm sorry to hear about your ducky :(

I've been working on my pen, Gonna put up a pic in a sec.

Mine are supposed to go nighty night at 8. Little monster usually stays up with momma until 10 or so though, that way she sleeps later in the morning and the baby can have some momma time then.

OMG I just posted my Monster. How funny. I'm getting ready to put them down now. This is such an ordeal.

Keep it around 40ish, then after day 18 the chickens will be in the lg so bump it up to 55-60 until lockdown. Mine's ar 65 right now because I have quail due to hatch, but it's usually about 35-45. I don't have chicken eggs in there though. I never added any water to chicken eggs until lockdown, but the only time I incubated them myself was summer when relative humidity was 45% or higher. The air's a lot drier in winter with the furnace, so I add enough to keep it at 40.
