Anybody ever have an egg go bad and blow up in the bator? What are some signs of that... (not the blow up part... right before that.)

darnit if only the girl had started layin 2 weeks ago.
i got muscovy and pekin eggs.
and have the muscovy eggs in the bator, and pekin eggs go in tomarrow.

How are the calls doing CG?

QJ, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, the eggs appear to be vibrating now, in addition to the rocking I've been seeing for the past three days. Will candle at 6pm, as scheduled. Stay tuned for report afterwards.

Bad eggs can turn dark (the shell itself) and they stink! Sniff those shells and you will find the bad one.

I can do 2 Sebastopol eggs right now, but no more as we are setting to hatch and fill orders. We have the new HWF Sebastopols arriving in about a week too. Lots of fun color potential with them.

Adding in American geese as well, in blue and lavender ice.

Just hatched out over 30 Lav Ameracuana, setting more Lav Orps this week. Bought 12 top line black Ameracuana and hunting for top quality black Orps for the Lav projects.

Built a new goose house today, a rabbit house and picked up 4 new baby bunnies. New Zealand meat rabbits.

the calls are good.
very demanding lately.
and eating like pigs.
still no laying.
weather this week is suppose to be in the 50's
so maybe they will (even tho the bator is full right now!)

This one egg in question doesn't smell, but it's very dark inside. Much darker than it should be. I've just heard horror stories of eggs blowing up and was wondering if anyone has experienced that. Gross.
