Country & Quackers I feel you with duds....
Candled & NOT happy ~ My 2nd auction of WHF Lav Orps ~ sent 18 & only 5 are viable !!!! LD will be in 4 days....
My Lemon Blue Cochins, only 2 are viable out of 14 sent & LD will be in 10 days.

Hatched 8 out of 15 eggs sent from 1st auction of WHF LAV orps (only 9 eggs made it to LD) BUT 8

&
Hatched 10 dark Brahmas out of 16 sent, & then 13 Light Brahmas out of 16 sent.

& MY MUSCOVY EGGS ARRIVED!! but like this

JZ, those egg trays are works of art. I'd seriously love a photo of one of those on my wall. Seriously. In fact I would pay you for a photo (or a mega high quality file that I could have printed).

With air cells and humidity it works like this. First think about the air in the incubator. More humidity = wet air. Less humidity = dry air. Now think about the air cell. A small air cell means a wet egg. A large cell means a dry egg. If the aircell is too small you need to dry out your egg more so you need dryer air so you need LESS humidity. If the aircell is too big you need a wetter egg so you need wetter air so you need MORE humidity. If that doesn't help you let me know and I'll write a song and set it to music and sing the song and put it on YouTube. No, I won't.

A dog attack update:
I went for a walk this morning and passed the woman with the dog walking directly towards my house down the road (about 100m away from my house). As I passed her I called out to her that if she could avoid walking the dog past my house I'd be grateful. She yelled that I couldn't tell her where to go or what to do. I said that I knew that but that I was worried that her dog knew I had ducks in there and would get excited when she went past. She yelled again that I couldn't tell her where to go, that she had said nothing to me [this morning] and that I was a horrible person. I said that I was just making a request and that her dog had been reported. I was keeping my cool big time. I then said 'bye bye' and put on my headphones and walked away (she was still shouting but I don't know what was said because she was being drowned out by contemporary folk pop). She kept walking towards my house while I went the opposite way. Obviously no apology is going to be forthcoming there.

When I got home I emailed dog control to update them and to request that fines be served, if possible.

I do love the logic - her dog attacked my birds and she refused to leave my property so therefore I am a horrible person. The whole world really owes this woman so keep that in mind if you are unlucky enough to ever meet her.

Third row top picture? Can't believe they all made it since I had them smushed in a little box. Did your little girl like the guinea? They are so fun at that age. When I cooked duck I told my 7 year old it was chicken because she hates trying new things, and she loved it and told me she likes duck better than chicken, lol.
I just saw a few eggs starting to wobble! And my one lone quail egg that made it to lockdown again has pipped. I need to move the big one's out and get the brooder ready for another baby, there are more eggs a few days behind so hopefully he'll have company.

I know this is kinda gross. But I saw my anconas fertilizing eggs the other day! Gonna set 5 or 6 when my bator gets back! And some RIR eggs! I have a guy near me who want 15 chicks from me! Selling them at $2 a peice! Good deal!

When does your bator get back!!?? And that is a great deal. The fun of hatching and then sell them. LOL. How are the sheepers?
