Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

So, I got some new duck eggs today. I've arranged to sell some duck eggs. I'm making arrangements for silkies, and I still can't talk dear hubby into anything with four legs, but I keep trying!

Celtic, Nooooo!!!!! I value your participation, experience and advice. If I were Jaz, I'd be feeling defensive because it was crazy lady that sent them.... but your point about packaging is well taken, in my opinion.

ETA: No offense meant, crazy lady!

Jaz, don't get offended by my statement. It is MY opinion based on the photos you provided. I won't be drug into anythin g here on BYC. You will notice I did not ask what breed or who they came from. I don't want to know. Again, my opinion is that those eggs were not shipped with proper protection. This gives me the impression that the seller didn't care how the eggs arrived.
Personally, I wouldn't ever take someone's hard earned money and ship eggs without giving them all the protection I could. The PO give priority boxes for free, so if my shipping is more than others, but they receive intacted eggs and have great hatch rates then I will stick with my method so my buyers avoid heart ache of smashed eggs.

This was my first attempt at shipping eggs, so I guess I really *&C#&D Up! For your information, I was't charging anything for the eggs. Not that it makes any difference, and I would have made it right if I had!!!! I TOLD the lady at the Post Office they were hatching eggs, and she didn't mention writing that on the box. Also, I have read several threads where people said the DON'T mark the boxes fragile, etc. because they felt they were treated worse for it. When I received eggs in the mail, they were individually wrapped, but not tightly packed in the box, so they apparently smacked against each other and several were cracked. So I purposely made sure that they were all tightly secure in the cartons (and used the foam cartons for extra padding). I will never package like that again! LESSON LEARNED!!! But I can guarantee you that it wasn't that I didn't give a D A M N how they arrived. I cared very much!
