Okay, finally all caught up.

SM- So sorry for your loss. I hope the babies suck up those yolks and perk up for you.

Just expect the worst and pray for the best. That bad of a hatch makes me think something went wrong either with humidity or temp fluctuations. I incubate ducks at 60-65% but I've heard other people that have to incubate much lower so maybe try tweaking things the next batch. How were the air cells? did it seem like you had too big of air cells or too little? I've had those bad hatches before too and just had to rework all my incubating settings until I figured something out that worked.

Utah- Can't wait to hear some hatching news on your Anconas.

I just got another incubator set up so now I can hatch 3 times as many eggs. Got the 6 Millie Fleur Cochin eggs resting and waiting to go in the bator. Ended up bringing home 4 Millie Cochin youngsters home 3 pullets and a cockerel

They are kinda in an ugly stage right now but I know thy are going to mature into some beautiful birds. I'll have some wheaten marans eggs coming later this week and I'm going to set some more of the EE crossed with my cuckoo marans roo eggs so I can hatch some more olive eggers. I'm not going to be setting duck eggs for a little while simply because I'm hatching so many chicken eggs and I don't like to mix the two because of different humidity requirements.

Hmmmm, maybe one of my silkies or cochins will go broody. That would be the only chance of me setting duck eggs at this point.

Jasmine, if you are baiting me into another fight give up. Oddly you are starting to resemble a woman who has been a stalker of mine for over 2 and half years now. Not a good person to be like, or maybe you are her. Wouldn't surprise me one bit she is highly unstable and always trying to inject herself into my life. Looks real good.  I've had them start in funny places.  According to what I read today, even turned babies hatch o.k., so Id just keep baking them, honey!

OK good. Apple #4 just worked her way out. She looks kinda black too. We'll see when she fluffs up!

Yes we have, ended being a drake and is darker but Rouen dark. I will get a picture of him tomorrow for you. He is hubbies favorite of that group.

I don't know if I could handle incubator stress. Last year some of my calls went broody several times.... I did get 5 out of 8 eggs to hatch with momma. I like letting her do the work and giving her a chance to do what she wants to do.
