I just decided to skip ahead.

Well my Muscovy hen Keiko was sitting on the eggs all of today from what I could tell so I might be lucky

and have some babies in about a month. I am not sure if they are fertile eggs though. I cracked open some the other hen laid and I didn't see any bullseye.

What a lovely name. Keiko is Japanese for chrysanthamum....
I don't know much about muscovey, but since they will set, I'd let her. What have you got to loose? The eggs aren't good now that shes sat them, so let her give it a shot and save you some trouble!

Back from the beach.

Here are a couple of pics of today. I don't regard this as a very good or big beach but it is an ok beach and there was a cafe there with nice fish and chips (aka fries).



QJ, this is kind of 'the bush'. Thought you guys might like a virtual drive on the left for a moment.






And of dinner last night, courtesy of KC Masterpiece (the ribs anyway). Sorry about the sideways pecan pie (made with 70% chocolate pastry.....mmmmmm).



And this is my old doggie, Nicolae, hoping for some ribs or pie or cream. Sorry about the carpet.

Id trade my 3 favorite ducks for a day on that beach. I'll send you a pic of Melvern Lake sometime. They are worlds apart!

Well, I guess it's all relative It's a nice family beach, being small, protected a bit by the headlands and gradually sloping so the water is shallow and the waves are gentle. I kind of like a bigger, longer beach that is more directly open to the ocean, with bigger surf and good for a long walk. The coast is about 2 hours away from here so we don't get there that often. All we have in the town I live in is a huge artificial lake (which is still quite nice in parts).
