what kind of bulb do u guys use in your heat light?
and what wattage?
i bought a 250w bulb that is red.
but im wondering if it is going to be too much .

my brooder for the first few weeks is going to be a 100gal fiberglass stocktank.
on the porch.
it stays pretty chilly out there.
so maybe it wont be too much for them?
idk.

I started switching from the red bulbs to ceramic. They don't make light, so the brooder house stays dark at night. They seem to be lasting longer too.

both rural king and tsc only had red and regular heat bulbs in 250w and 150 w

The next blue egg turned up its zipping and is beating the white egg now.

OK good. Maybe there's some baby makin' going on that I'm missing. She hasn't gotten in the pool yet.

They can make babies just fine out of the water.

I'm only on day 3 and can see some development in the eggs in the incubator, and they hadn't gone swimming for a month or so.

so now i just read that these heat bulbs can explode if water touches them.
so what kind do you guys use for your duck?
or so any of you use bulbs?
or do you use what celtic said? a ceramic heat omitter
