Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

The last ducky finally made it out. It is exhausted, but I think he will be fine after a long rest in the bator. The malformed duckling is still not good. Hubby and I decided though to wait until morning before deciding to put it down. Which brings up the question, what is the best way to humanely end a hatchling's suffering? Snap neck?
One last update for tonight... The first goose egg internally pipped around 2am. This fun gets to begin all over again in 2 days.

poor baby but glad his is okay.

well still no internal pip on egg #1
but he's still working VERY hard at it .
harder than yesterday
im hoping he gets thru it today .

and egg #2's air cell is starting to dip . and it looks like he is wiggling around in the egg trying to position himself.

both eggs musta been wiggly lastnight bcuz they had both rotated onto their sides.
=)
come on guys! mommy wants fluffies to hold!!!

Good morning.... I set my alarm clock to check on the new hatchlings. The one that we helped hatch that pipped on the wrong end is doing really well. So, we have 5 duckies that made it. The 6th one that was all twisted inside egg has actually made major improvement in the past 3 hours. He is still FAR away from being out of the woods, but after seeing Twist's recovery, I need to wait and see if this guy can get himself sorted out. I was thinking to offer some water laced with a pinch of sugar and a drop of polyvisol?

come on little ducky

It's not looking good for the last two. The one we helped is all backwards and looks bad. Hubby is already facing possibility of putting it down. We have been helping the last egg that pipped on wrong end, but it started bleeding quite a bit, so it is back in bator. Hubby doesn't think we can help it anymore, but hopes it will make it out on its own.
On the bright side... I have 4 adorable new baby duckies, and the goose eggs are getting ready to pip... Hopefully that will go better than this hatch.
Mine was kinked up too and is fine now. Give it time. Yay for the others though!
