I put quail in lockdown tonight, and when I do I have to temporarily put my turkey eggs in with them while I readjust my turners for the new duck eggs and quail going in tomarrow and/or sunday.

I think I'll get them back out in the morning, and then up the humidity for the quail. I don't ususlly do this, but I got a little EGGcited this year, and have to keep adjust things for all my purchases. I think I'm gonna not get any more eggs until its time to put them in for the easter hatch-a-long.

Anyone else ever do this? Work out o.k.? I even had to drive to my moms and borrow two of her incubators. Sound familiar? LOL

Bummer. I'm with everyone else, keep it low. I sometimes let my get to 25% for larger eggs, and after a day or two I up it. BUT, that far behind, strait lows is what Id do too. Don't want the babies to drown when they inner pip, if your air pocket fills with water.

Ok. I just told the hubs that we have 5 new chickens. I was totally okay with it and actually said, "I'm excited for you.".


What? um.. okay. He's "excited" for me.

I tried to separate little Lavender Orp from the duckies and she cried and cried until I put the ducks back in with her. And Lav had 3 other chicks in there with her! I'm like... really? She thinks she's a duck.

If they aren't hurting her, and she seems happy, do you really want to move them? We know they get along, I mean, how many hens hatch ducks and raise them every year anyway? LOL

Are you sure your temperature is right? My air cells were quite a bit behind, but so was development because of my stupid thermometer telling me it was about 3 degrees higher in there for a week than it was.
