Qj, plan on staying up all night?

No change in hitler. Still getting up to drink water and does not seem to be too bad, but still not eating.
Checked toulouse eggs for problem air cells. Found one wonky cell.... And all 5 looked alive... 2 even had beginning spiders.... And it has only been 36 hours!!!
And more good news... 5 of the Cayuga eggs now have spiders... And may have a few more showing up tomorrow.

Java #1 is out!! That was fast! I just posted that he was zipping! Strong little booger. And cute too!

Probably!!! (Again) I'm exhausted from last night actually.

I was thinking about Charlie Chaplin. It's good that he's drinking water. Did you offer him some mush/soggy food. Or little pieces of bread soaked in vita water. Teeny pieces.. like specks of bread.

You can do what I did...set my alarm every 2 hours to check bator.

I have not tried bread... Only teeny pieces of kale and romaine. I will try that tonight!

I consulted the duck guru (Dr. S) and she said if your baby is under 48 hours, she'd consider withholding food for 12 hours - maybe his insides aren't on track yet. She said a short break, keep him alone or with one other, water only might set him right. She said most disgestive difficulties are a result of eating too soon. Babies don't eat until they leave the nest, and thats sometimes 2-3 days later. They don't need to eat for 48-72 hours after hatching.

Good luck.

I had a couple weeks ones last fall wouldn't eat anything til I did the bread thing. Maybe it's the color white. Who knows. But this one in particular I had to feed by hand for 4 days. Her name was Pee Wee. She was precious. I sold her.

LOL.
