Srbenda... yes, you can. Hopefully your bator is in your bathroom? If so, you can run your shower to steam up bathroom and do a quick candle. Humidity only really becomes a major issue when they externally pip and expose themselves to the outside air. Another trick is to use a steth if you have a basic styro bator set up. You can place the steth on the viewing window. Once internally pipped, the ducks will establish breathing and sounds like a faint "click click" noise. It is too soft to be heard at first by normal hearing, but a steth picks it up easily. If you have a bunch of ducks internally pipped, it sounds similar to popcorn in the microwave.

My bator is in the basement furnace room, which has the best temperature control, but it's also dry. However, I have a dryer that I can vent into the room to make it humid if I need to. Of course, I am concerned about him running out of oxygen, it's been at least 12 hours since he pipped internally.

Guess I'm jinxed this week. I'll be sure to sterilize that bator extra, when I was just checking, one of the quail eggs exploded
